At QEC, we work together with families and communities to create a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming environment. We celebrate the different strengths and experiences that everyone brings.
We embrace diversity and want to make sure our places, processes, and services are fair, more accessible, and open to all.
It is important to us that people can express their beliefs, values and needs and that these are heard and understood so that everyone feels safe, respected, and a sense of belonging.
QEC Baabak Hastings Early Parenting Centre now open
Families in Melbourne’s southeast now have access to a new purpose-built early parenting service, with QEC Baabak Hastings Early Parenting Centre officially opened on 29 May 2026.
The centre was opened by Minister for Children Lizzie Blandthorn, joined by Paul Mercurio MP (Hastings) and Paul Edbrooke MP (Frankston). This marks an important step in expanding access to early parenting support across Hastings and surrounding communities.
Located at 185 High Street, Hastings behind Peninsula Health, Baabak Hastings has been designed to support families with children from birth to four years. The centre includes a Day Stay facility, ten family suites for overnight programs, and dedicated spaces for group programs, training, and community use.
Supporting families in the early years
Baabak Hastings provides practical, evidence informed support to help families navigate common early parenting challenges, including sleep and settling, feeding, and building parenting confidence.
Referrals are now open for the Day Stay Program, supporting families with children up to 12 months through in person sessions with QEC’s multidisciplinary team.
Overnight residential programs will be introduced as part of a staged opening, expected later in 2026.
