New Rainbow PlaySteps Program
We're excited to announce our new Rainbow PlaySteps, our evidence-informed, facilitated play group for LGBTIQA+ parents and caregivers with children aged from newborn until their 4th birthday.
We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as traditional owners of the lands on which we walk, live and raise our children.
We pay our respects to traditional owners past, present, future and any Aboriginal people present here today. We acknowledge the importance of children being raised with connections to culture, community and family.

Inclusion statement
At QEC, we work together with families and communities to create a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming environment. We celebrate the different strengths and experiences that everyone brings.
We embrace diversity and want to make sure our places, processes, and services are fair, more accessible, and open to all.
It is important to us that people can express their beliefs, values and needs and that these are heard and understood so that everyone feels safe, respected, and a sense of belonging.
QEC’s New Early Parenting Centre: A Vital Resource for Peninsula Families
New parents across the Mornington Peninsula will soon have better access to early parenting support in a state-of-the-art facility, with construction starting on a new QEC Early Parenting Centre (EPC).
Located at 185 High Street, this state-of-the-art centre will offer vital support to families, helping to improve the health, wellbeing, and developmental outcomes for children, particularly during the crucial early years.
The centre, which will feature 10 residential family units and four day-stay units, is designed with families in mind. It aims to provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment where parents and carers can access the assistance they need. This includes specialised support for sleep and settling, feeding, and extra care for babies and toddlers with additional needs.
Minister for Health Infrastructure, Mary-Anne Thomas, highlighted the importance of these centres: “The new early parenting centre in Hastings will mean new mums and dads across the Mornington Peninsula can access the support and advice they need, closer to home.”
We are proud to be part of this vital initiative, helping families thrive in those early, formative years.
